A simple way to connect to a Goddess and to empower yourself is by using and wearing symbols and colors related to a specific Deity.
The goal of this post is to provide ideas to create “Goddesses Nails”, so you can choose a Deity and connect to her power by decorating your nails with the right colors and the right symbols.
Keep in mind that this post is just to give you the ideas. You really don’t need to do exactly what is shown in the images. I’ll guide you with the colors and symbols stuff and provide you inspiration.
You can do this to connect to a Goddess or even to use her archetype in your life.
Please share a picture with me of your “Goddess Nails” and I can upload it here too and credit using your social profiles if you wish!
Let’s start?
Remember you can use the different oracles I’ve created. Just choose one from the buttons below:

Aphrodite Nails
Aphrodite is the Greek Goddess of Love and Beauty. She’s a very popular Goddess today and that’s I chose her to be the first on this list.
Connecting to Aphrodite is a great way to enhance your self-love, attract and give more love, and also to awaken your sensuality.
I’ve written some articles about here, and you can find them here:
- Who is Aphrodite?
- Orphic Hymn to Aphrodite
- Summoning Aphrodite for a Love Spell
- The Aphrodite Archetype
- The symbols of Aphrodite
- Oracle of Aphrodite
Colors for Aphrodite nails
The best colors that represent Aphrodite are different hues of pink combined with white. Light blue can also be an option here.
Paint your nails with these colors and create some different patterns. You can also fully paint some nails with a single color and use a different color on another nail, for example.
Let your imagination swim in the waves of the sea a allow Aphrodite to inspire your creation!
Symbols for Aphrodite nails
I personally think the best symbols that represent Aphrodite are the sea shell, the dove, and the rose. So I suggest inserting them as your nail decorations.
You can make drawings or attach some small symbols too. Some good contrasting color for the symbols are silver and golden.
You may also try creating some wavy ou foamy designs.
There are many other symbols related to Aphrodite too. Please refer to the article 9 Symbols of Aphrodite for more ideas!
Lilith Nails
Lilith is such a polemic Goddess that is also extremely popular today. She represents freedom, independence, and power.
Connecting with Lilith is a great way to have more trust and authority. Although she’s known as the dark feminine archetype, Lilith can help you to bring the light from inside of you!
I’ve written some articles on her so you can learn more about her story and archetype in case you need:
Colors for Lilith nails
Lilith is such an obscure Goddess that we can’t find many depictions to have a clearly view of who or how she is. However, we know her story and we can infer some colors related to her.
Choose some dark green hues and mix them with black. You can also insert some white parts to make a great contrast.
If you wish, you may add some dark red too.
Symbols for Lilith Nails
The two best symbols that represent Lilith are the snake and the apple. It is said that Lilith transformed herself into a snake to tempt Eve and torment Adam.
She made Eve curious so that Eve could get and eat the apple. After that Eve was expelled from Eden.
Try to insert these symbols into your designs. Make some snake patterns by mixing the green hues and white. You may also insert an apple if you feel like it.
Oshun Nails
Oshun is the Orisha Goddess of the rivers and fresh waters. She’s usually holding a mirror so she can observe her own beauty and remember to respect herself.
Connecting with Oshun is a great way to bring more beauty to your life. After you start this connection, you’ll start praising your own beauty and also the beauty around you. Oshun is also known from bringing fertility. So you can also look for her in this aspect.
If you want to learn more about Oshun, please read this article: Who is Oshun?
And if you’re not familiar with the Orishas, check my article: The 12 most important Orishas in Yoruba Mythology
Colors for Oshun nails
Oshun is always depicted wearing a gorgeous yellow and white dress. So Yellow is the best color to represent here. Combine it with white and you’ve got the perfect representation of Oshun Orisha.
Make some combinations using yellow and white or golden and white to create the Oshun nails. As Oshun is the Orisha of rivers, you can make lines symbolizing rivers too. Or, if you prefer, make some curves to show the river in a more pictorial way.
Symbols for Oshun nails
Oshun is usually holding a mirror in her hand, consequently the mirror is one of the most important symbols of hers. She’s also adorned with sparkling jewels.
Consider inserting some sparkling stones or drawing things that resemble these types of riches. Drawings of mirrors are also welcome.
Kali nails
What to say about Kali? Kali is simply one of the strongest Goddesses of all. She is the Hindu Goddess of Destruction and she’s known for having no limits at all.
Connecting with Kali is a great way to strengthen yourself; to bring the shadow the lies in your inner psyche and use it to aid you at all moments. It’s absurdly powerful!
I’ve got a long-time experience with Kali throughout my practice and I guess I’m used to her temper.
I recommend you to read the article Who is Kali? to understand her a bit better and then read this other article: Hindu Mythology Explained.
You may also be interest in this guided meditation with Kali for spiritual freedom.
Colors for Kali nails
Kali has her blue skin in many depictions and her iconic red tongue exposed. So the best colors to paint your nails and connect with Kali are blue and red. Consider adding some white for contrast too.
It’s also common to find Kali depictions having a black skin. If you feel you’re more connect to the black color instead of the blue one, feel free to make changes.
However, it’s uncommon to find her with blue and black skins at the same time. So if you’re opting for black, exclude blue.
Symbols for Kali nails
It’s very easy to spot Kali in paintings, drawings, and sculptures because she’s going to have her tongue exposed and/or a necklace made of human skulls and/or a lot of blood involved.
So these three symbols are easily associated to her!
Consider adding at least one or more of them to your nail designs.
Oya Nails
Oya is an Orisha related to storms, winds, and thunder. It is said she’s very violent, but protective. When she had her 9th child she received the name Iansã and she can transform herself into a buffalo to aid her children whenever they need.
Connecting with Oya is a great way to awaken your inner power and to empower yourself as a protector – of yourself or the ones who need you.
To get to know more about Oya, read the article Who is Oya?
Colors for Oya nails
Oya is always depicted wearing red clothes with some yellow hues too. If the yellow detail is not on her clothes, it’s usually depicted as a thunderbolt behind her.
Try to make some nice combinations of red and yellow. You can also apply some white for contrast.
Symbols for Oya nails
Oya is usually holding an instrument called irukere. It is a tool with horse hair used to repel flies in Africa. In her hands, it is used to drive the spirits away. However, I personally find it a bit difficult to insert this symbol in a nail design.
On the other hand, Oya is also represented by the thunderbolt symbol. So consider making some on your nails with the colors red, yellow, or white. It’ll be nice!
Another symbol deeply related to Oya is the wind. You can make some lines symbolizing wind to ornate your nail designs too.
Gaia Nails
Gaia is the primordial Goddess of the Earth in Greek Mythology. She is known as a mother Goddess who takes care of all her children and nourish them.
Connecting with Gaia is a great way to experience abundance in its purest form. All her creation is abundance and so you are too.

Gaia is represented by the Earth. Usually the Planet Earth itself. However, Gaia is more related to the soil, the mountains, the forests, and the fertile earth. So the best colors to represent her are hues of green, black, and brown.
Try making a combination of these colors so you can get an “earthly” looking nail.
Symbols for Gaia nails
As mentioned above, Gaia is symbolized by the earth itself, by the fertile soil, plants, trees, forests, mountains, and so on.
Try adding some natural designs to your nail art to show Gaia’s exuberance. Drawing some trees or leaves in black or dark green can add a nice touch to Gaia nails design.
Durga Nails
Durga is the Warrior Goddess in Hinduism. She’s extremely powerful and no one can even reach her. Although she’s an incredible warrior, she also shows a maternal side, protecting those who need it. It’s very common to see people calling her Maa Durga (Mother Durga).
Connecting with Durga is an excellent way to become fearless and powerful. If you need some extra courage in your life of if you need strength to fight against some situation, this is ideal for you.
You can learn more about Durga in the text Who is Durga? and also understand more about Hindu Mythology in my article Hindu Mythology Explained.
Colors for Durga nails
Durga is usually depicted wearing some orange and/or yellow accessories. Most of the Hindu iconography is very similar and what makes a Deity different from another can be the usage of colors or symbols.
Try combining orange and yellow with some white for contrast in your nail designs. It’s going to be a nice combination to connect with Durga’s energy.
Symbols for Durga nails
As I mentioned above, sometimes what differentiates one Deity from another in Hindu iconography is the usage of colors and symbols. You will spot Durga every time you find a Goddess on a lion or a tiger holding many different weapons at the same time.
For the nail art, I thought you could add some lions or tigers too. If you want to go further, try inserting some of the weapons she holds.
Hekate Nails
Hekate is ultimately popular among witches from the past and in the present. She’s the Greek Goddess who knows all secrets, all about the dark arts, and she’s also the one who guides lost souls to and from the underworld. The worship of Hekate is so big that you can find many different covens that only work with her energy.
Connecting with Hekate is a great way to learn more about yourself and explore different paths that your soul may walk. It’s also great to empower yourself as a witch and acknowledge your magickal skills.
There’s a lot written about Hekate. I made some articles in the past and also a music video. Here’s what I can offer if you want to know more about her:

Dark purple or really dark blue are also some options. You can also add some red or yellow to represent the torches she uses to light the way.
Symbols for Hekate nails
Hekate has many different symbols associated with her. The most prominent ones are the torches and her wheel, called the Strophalos. She’s also known for holding the keys to lock or reveal the secrets of the world and the underworld.

Consider adding these to your nail art.
Nyx Nails
Nyx is the Greek primordial Goddess of the Night. There’s not much information about her and it is said there was only one statue dedicated to her found in a temple to Artemis. What is common in her depictions and stories is that she was is very powerful and everyone was afraid of her.
Connecting with Nyx is a great way to embrace the shadow inside of you and understand it. It’s a great way to become more powerful by understanding yourself better.
You can read the article Who’s Nyx to get to know a bit more about her and also the Orphic Hymn to Nyx to see how she’s praised.
Colors for Nyx nails
Nyx is not only the embodiment of the night. She is the night herself. So the best colors that represent Nyx are the night sky colors.
Consider using some purple hues as the sky get purple when the sun is setting and Nyx is arriving. Black also works well with her.
You can add some white to contrast and represent the colors of the moon and the stars.
Symbols for Nyx nails
As Nyx is the night, the best thing to symbolize her are the astral bodies we find in the night sky.
So consider adding to your nail designs some stars, the moon, and maybe some clouds too.
Yemaya Nails
Yemaya the Orisha Goddess of the Sea. She’s one of the most popular Orishas of all. She’s a mother to everyone and she’s also the protector of fishermen. She’s also called Yemanjá or Yemana in English.
Connecting to Yemaya’s energy is a great way to attract abundance, protection, and to enhance your freedom and independece.
